Ten startup health-tech companies from across the United States are joining us from September to December 2023 as part of the eight class of the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator. This year's startup companies are creating high-tech solutions to a wide variety of healthcare challenges. Chosen from hundreds of startups, these ten teams and their innovative products represent the best and brightest from our global community of health innovators.

52North develops platform technology that adapts lateral flow to create a low-cost method of measuring both cells and solutes from a single sample.

52North’s solution - Neutrocheck® - is a finger-prick blood test and digital platform aimed at disrupting the clinical pathway for diagnosis and treatment of the most fatal side-effect of chemotherapy treatment: a condition called neutropenic sepsis. Neutrocheck enables rapid at-home identification of cancer patients on chemotherapy who are truly at risk of sepsis.

Acorai develops a device for heart failure management through non-invasive intracardiac pressure monitoring (ICPM) to help reduce hospitalizations and improve quality of life for heart failure patients.

The Acorai Heart Monitor monitors the intracardiac pressures non-invasively through its proprietary SAVE Sensor System, leveraging machine learning analysis of Seismic, Acoustic, Visual and Electrocardiographic data.

Alva Health develops a device that uses non-invasive wearables and machine learning algorithms to monitor the onset of stroke symptoms and immediately initiate emergency calls. The wearable platform detects hemiparesis, a hallmark of stroke onset. Upon the onset of hemiparesis, the user is connected to a 24/7 call center where trained medical responders perform additional assessments and initiate 911 calls when indicated.

Alva Health’s goal is to build a game-changing solution for the early detection of stroke symptoms, which will enable for the first time the automated, seamless monitoring of stroke in high risk patients at home, and away from the hospital where they are most vulnerable.

CARI Health develops a wearable remote medication monitor to enable personalized dosing and adherence monitoring. CARI’s solution combines proprietary core sensing technology with software, mobile apps, data, and AI to measure medication levels in real-time.

Along with its initial focus on monitoring methadone patients in opioid use disorder treatment, CARI Health plans to expand to additional use cases where personalized medication dosing and adherence monitoring has high value. Combining personalized dosing with the ability for patients to prove adherence remotely will make therapeutic treatment more compelling for new patients, more convenient for current patients, and result in longer adherence, all at a lower total cost of care for payers.

equalityMD is a LGBTQ+ culturally competent, digital healthcare and data analytics B2B SaaS platform for health systems, employers, and individuals. The telehealth platform trains providers to be LGBTQ+ culturally competent, matches patients with trained providers, and delivers patient-centric care to a growing NIH designated “health disparity population.”

While the platform focusses on mental health and primary care, it also offers services such as wellness services, medication management, nutrition guidance, and more.
